Important Rule – Must Read:
Never leave the shipper or receiver without confirmation from the dispatch team. You must always wait for the “good to go” from dispatch. If you leave without informing the dispatch team and the broker asks you to return to the shipper, all expenses (fuel, broker charges, etc.) will be your responsibility.

2. What are the App events that drivers need to complete?
1. Arrive at origin: Driver passes the geofence at the yard and taps “Swipe to arrive” in the Relay mobile app
2. Scan trailer: Driver attaches the pickup trailer to the load by either scanning the trailer ID or manually entering it in the app
3. Depart origin: Driver leaves the yard and taps “Swipe after gate scan” in the app
4. Arrive at destination: Driver passes the geofence at the yard and taps “Swipe on arrival” in the app
5. Keep the relay app running for the entire duration (both drivers if team load) of their trips while hauling Amazon loads
6. Start within the Relay mobile app at least 15 minutes before the first check in at the origin site to ensure their location can be measured
7. Do not close the app until check in at the final destination site is complete
We encourage your to keep the Relay mobile app open while hauling Amazon loads to avoid impacting your company’s performance score.
Please contact your dispatch immediately if you face any issues using the relay app!
3. Amazon Yard Rules
Amazon yard rules require that the guardshack be stopped at for check in to the site and check out from the site. Please wait for onsite team directive prior to moving from the guardshack. Please also see below from Amazon Policy:
Do not hook up on flashing red light;
At all times wear a reflective safety vest;
Yield to pedestrians in the yard and maintain a safe distance;
Turn off ignition when approached;
Yard equipment to be handled only by authorized Amazon personnel;
Maintain a minimum distance of 6FT from trailer while dock light is red;
Tandems must be in rear position;
Maintain speed below 5MPH;
No smoking/idling/littering;
No headphones, cell phones or other electronic devices may be used while operating any Tractors or walking in the yard; andWhen operating motor vehicles always follow locally posted safety instructions.
The management has made this a strict requirement, and breaking any of the guidelines may result in the driver's ability to execute Amazon loads being suspended or possibly permanent suspension of the company from Amazon.
4. Non-Amazon Trailers
Mandatory pictures required:
Mud flaps (both)
Inside (if empty)
Tires (both sides)
Trailer sides
Front
Rear (back side)
If any damage or scratches are found during PTI, send detailed pictures regardless of trailer brand.
Missing pictures will lead to penalties. Send extra pictures if damage is detected.
5. Reporting Accident & Damage
Please report any damage to the load, truck, trailer, other vehicles, persons, or buildings immediately to management. This includes:
For accidents with other vehicles: Collect MC and DOT numbers, and the driver's CDL.
For property damage: Obtain contact info for the responsible site representative, along with written confirmation if they claim no issues.
Remember, any unreported damage claims will be the driver's responsibility. Always document incidents with video and pictures. Your prompt reporting helps us maintain safety and accountability.
6. Home Date Notification
We often do Power Only loads that require returning load-out trailers to shippers. All trailers have specific due dates for return, and late returns will incur charges. Please inform us of your home date at least 7 days in advance to help us plan trailer deliveries and coordinate your next trips home effectively. If you head home immediately while hauling a trailer without prior notice, any late fees will be your responsibility. Clear communication is key to avoiding mistakes and charges.
Prompt reporting and compliance are crucial for safety and accountability!
7. How to Use Truck Sticker (Decal)
For SAM CITY EXPRESS INC drivers:
A) If Amazon load is booked, send a truck photo with ULUG Express stickers before checking into the shipper, then do not remove it until you have finished the entire load 🚚
B) If you are pulled over by a police or weight stations during your trip, only show ULUG Express Binder documents!
C) If street load is booked (non-amazon), like other brokers. Keep always the Sam City Express sign and documents.
For ULUG EXPRESS INC drivers:
A). If Amazon load is booked, send a truck photo with ULUG Express stickers before checking into the shipper, then do not remove it until you have finished the entire load 🚚
B). If you are pulled over by a police or weight stations during your trip, only show ULUG Express Binder documents!
C) If street load is booked (non-amazon), like other brokers. Stick SAM CITY sign and send pictures before checking into the shipper. After check out you can remove SAM sign and keep driving with ULUG Express sign.
